Evaluation - Cara

2. b.       How is the website, CD cover and video interrelated? Do they have the same purpose?

Our website, video and CD cover are interlinked in their style of imagery in the sense that all of our pieces of work have a conceptual, electro theme. All three use bold, vivid colours and unusual effects to create an eye catching package.  The main similarity is that we used our image of the decks we filmed with as the CD cover and to make the banner for our web page through Photoshop edits. We formed a link by incorporating splats from the website into the CD cover and a location we used to film.

3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Feedback was gained by asking another group to evaluate our video and so the issue they raised was that the banana scene was too slow for the music. Other than this we were told our video was appropriate to our genre and very creative.

From this feedback we sped up the whole scene and added an effect which made this section look like a film to go with the narrative structure. Our video then had a large section to fill and so we added in more clips which we had yet to use and added effects appropriate to our genre.

As a group we agreed with the feedback we gained and believe the video is now much improved. The problems we had with making the change was that the whole video moved out of time and so we had to re-edit the whole sequence back to the music.

Editing

Here are some of the edits we have used in today's lesson. After completing the music video, we decided to then use a different edit for each location to create a clear separation between the locations.

We used the "Colour TV" edit on imovie and changed the width so that the various colours were more striking and bold. We believe this suits our genre as it is conceptual and has many elements that suit the style of Daft Punk.

Here we used the "Newspaper" edit to make look more like a film as it follows a narrative structure.

Here we have used the "Mirror" edit to make an interesting illusion of characters appearing from nowhere we believed this matches our conceptual theme.

We put a keyboard on the floor of the green screen and used "green screen smooth" edit to use the foil from the background of one of locations to use as the background for the green screen.
