Recee - Location Three: Performance Studio

We thought that using the dance/performance studio at college would be a good idea as a setting because we have dancers in our video. This is dominant ideology and having dancers in a garage is recessive ideology.

Recee - Location Two: Street outside college

Above are the sheets we used to assess each location we wish to film in. We took elements such as lighting and electrical power into consideration. As a group we feel that this location is suitable overall. Although it is used by the public, that use is not frequent with residents being at work during the day. The noise of the cars in the surrounding area is not a problem because we will mute the audio track to the filming and layer over our song.

Website Design

This is our website design. Page links are displayed as pyramids. We wanted to use elements shown in pictures of Daft Punk. The pyramids come from the stage they use when playing live.

We want the pyramid buttons to be bright, eccentric and luminous. The best way to achieve this would be to have a slightly darker background and possibly heavily patternd.

I recently found a website where you can type in your own text and i'll appear in the the same font as what Daft Punk use on their CD's and other media. Like the pyramids, the title would  have to be quite bright so that stands out against the background. As a group we will use photoshop to achieve this.

Most of the websites we researched had a large image in the centre of the home screen. We think that this would be a good idea because whoever looks at the page will see what the band is like and how they like to appear.

We'd like to emphasize Daft Punk's futuristic electro style by having the background quite futuristic. This would consist of flourescent and metallic colours.

Because the song we have chosen for the music video is "Crescendolls", we would like to have a music/media player so that you can listen to the song as you browse the website.

On many band websites they have little quotes and comments given by newspapers, celebrities like Jonathon Ross and Graham Norton and also radio presenters. We think this is a good idea because the positive feedback would attract audiences to listen and purchase their music.

Filming Locations

The above sheet shows the address locations we are using and information on when we are filming there as well as transport links to each. We have chosen two of our three locations to be in college which makes things a lot easier for our actors to get there and for us to have maximum time filming. Our location choices are Aliss' garage, Bilborough College performance studio and College Way (street outside college). Unfortunately we can only film in the performance studio on Wednesdays after 3.30. This means we will need to film all of one scene on a selected day. We plan to film the other scene on College Way during enrichment time on a Wednesday afternoon.

The other section of this sheet lists what equipment will be required on each date at each location. So far we have chosen three dates to film which are 26/10, 17/11 & 24/11. We have already completed filming on 26/10 which was fairly successful for us, but we now need to add more dates to our filming with the studio only being available for 30 minutes each week. If we can, we will film every Wednesday until everything is finished.
